Our Story

House of Iris is driven by intentionality and a commitment to connection in all that we do. We are a full service interior and garden design firm led by Creative Director Kate Crothers, with retail home goods and seasonal floral offerings in our storefront on Roncesvalles Ave on the West End of Toronto.

Kate has been a multidisciplinary designer and creative her whole life, known for her signature style of natural, wild florals and a focus on restoration and sustainability in design. Prior to interiors and florals, she worked in film, hospitality, and had her own line of bespoke children’s clothing. 

She has always balanced a life in the city and in the country, finding deep connection and meaning amidst her creative community, and inspiration and expansiveness from nature. It has been a decades-long dream to open a storefront on Roncesvalles, her beloved neighborhood, and when the space became available in late 2025, it was meant to be. She closed her design studio (Crothers & Co) in Prince Edward County, and House of Iris came to life in January 2026.
